Flonqing observation.
Oath, I see it wasn't only my birth mother who exhibited serious lapses in judgment during my youth. This is possibly why I occasionally feel the need to do the exact opposite of anything Xavier or Cyclops might ever suggest; past, present, and future.

Hi! I'm new. Please like me!

Gosh, I don't know where to start. The last post here was made so long ago I don't even know if anyone will see this, but, I'm expressing interest in joining the community. I found it on the infamous "Bad RPers Suck" LJ as a source of good RP.

I've never done LJ RP. Mostly I'm a chatroom girl. The Mansion looks pretty good. From what I can tell you've got a collection of some pretty awesome RPers here, so naturally I was intrigued.

I'm looking for suggestions or ideas for characters to app (I hope this is the appropriate forum to do it on). I'm a Marvel girl so chances are I'll know who you're pointing at if you mention a name.

In my "home" RP room I play Rogue, Abigail Whistler, Valeria Richards, Amora and Elektra to name a few. In the past I've played Storm, Domino and Wasp as well. I'm probably forgetting a few, but you get the drift. I only play girlies. I have to say that I noticed Elektra was open...

Well any suggestions would be welcome! I'm hoping to get to know some of you. Possibly plot. Let you know about me. That kinda thing.

Oh... and one thing I didn't notice much. What's the SHIELD situation like in here?

So! It's time to play a new game!
Here's how it works. It's called "Ask The Characters Anything".

All responses should be, of course, thoroughly IC.

I'll even start.

To all characters: Describe, in a nutshell, your character's fashion. How do they generally like to look?

This scene involving Jamie and Monet has wrapped. And yes, the did "find comfort in each other." And no, I'm not spelling it out more than that ;)

Bump In the Night: The Story So Far
So, the mystery of the new Hobgoblin has yet to be solved.

So, to help you, I'm going to summarize the story so far...Collapse )

Okay, so that's the whole story so far. Now, previously, I've said that whoever correctly guesses all the pieces gets a year paid account. However, no one has managed any guesses at all... so I'm going to say the closest accurate guess wins the prize.

Put any guesses you have up here. Right now, there are no guesses at all. If you think you can make any guesses at all, put them up! If you're closer than anyone else, you'll win a year paid account! And you can make as many guesses as you like!

The mystery will be heading into its final act soon...

Not that there's anything wrong with that
So, Tommy boy, I didn't realize that you and Casper were oh so close.

I guess you and Billy are more alike than you thought.

I've had a timeline requested. Since I have one in the memories of the OOC community, locked so only existing players can see it, putting it in the Fans community like this would make it more accessible. This timeline is what I put together almost 2 years ago, when the game had been running only a couple months.

When this community started, we decided that the "modern" Marvel era was 12 years old at that point -- meaning that characters like Spider-Man or Johnny Storm, who started at 16 or so, were then 28. If we set that, then we realized that the Fantastic Four, the first team of the modern era, had their fateful encounter with cosmic rays back in 1994.

From there, I did a little time compression. Since there's a lot post Heroes-Return that's not being used, that's where I kinda broke from the formula.

I tried to note the major moments of note of most of the different characters here. If you need me to place something in here that I didn't mention, just let me know when the comic in question was released, and I can squeeze it into the approximate spot. In short, every 3.5 issues of a monthly comic is roughly equal to one month of "real time" passing. (You'll also see no "Dr. Strange appears" note, because he's one of the heroes who, in his first appearance, was already spoken of and rumored about; it's established he gained his powers before the Fantastic Four appears. Similar situation with Nick Fury.)

There remains some flexibility with this, but it can also help give you a good general rule of thumb.

The long delayed post
The Young Avenger post here where Cassie gets a phone call (or does she?) from her dead dad is finally finished.

Many thanks for everyone involved and those who helped out to get it done when we ran into problems.

Its All Your Fault!
I am Ronan, Supreme Accuser of the Great Kree Empire! I stand here on behalf of the Kree to accuse you humans of severe laziness and utter ignorance.

Your monthly updates were a good way to keep both us and yourselves abreast of what was happening on your worthless mudball of planet. But then, you stopped! And as a result the Kree Empire fell behind on what was going on in marvel_mansion. But no more!

I, Ronan The Accuser, have compiled a list of recent activity happening on your tiny, imperfect, ignorant world. Your punishment is to read through this, and be updated on what is happening in your own culture.

There will be a quiz on this. And if you fail, I have a hammer that is bigger and badder than Thor's, and I am not afraid to use it!

Bump In the Night -- update:
Hi there! I'm the Hobgoblin!

As many of you already know, the plot Bump In the Night is a long-term slow-build plot that will slowly explore my identity and reveal it to you all. And, in case you wonder who the suspects may be...

Under this cut, you'll find a list of suspects, a plot summary, and a bunch of tantalizing clues you may have missed.Collapse )

Alright. Go ahead and start guessing! Make as many guesses as you like! Be silly. Be serious. Give your theories here.

And remember... whoever guesses correctly first will win a free paid account for a year -- even if you're not a player in Marvel Mansion.

Let loose your inner conspiracy theorists, and have some fun!

I don't know who this gaymuffin  is or why he thinks the G-men are called the Agents of Atlas after Yellow Claw tried to kill us but he is one crazy cat. And we need to keep him away from Namora. Or stop Namora from killing him.

I have no idea what this "Sims" thing is but he has most of us on it. Except for M-11 and 3D man.

And what he did to Ken is not cool. But I laughed anyway.

A review:
Hi there! I'm the Hobgoblin.

Currently, my identity is being discussed in the plot, Bump In the Night.

The Story So FarCollapse )

Remember, whoever solves this mystery first wins a one-year account. Note not the character who solves it. You don't need to have a character... or even be playing this game... to win this prize. Though you do need to explain more than just the identity. You need to explain how the new Rose fits into this... and how Jack O'Lantern does, too.

Any questions? Thoughts? Stabs at solving this mystery?

Because I need beer to fuel my robot brain.
Hello, fleshy things. I am Aaron Stack, the sexiest robot walking.

Because your puny fleshy brains are incapable of remembering as many details as my highly advanced robot brain, or you are merely too lazy to read, I have been given the task of giving you all the 'short' version of what's happened recently in marvel_mansion . I care little for the fleshcapades that happen there, however, I was offered copious amounts of beer in exchange for breaking things down into bits of data that won't cause your fleshy brains to melt out your ears and become a pile of goo on the floor that I could accidentally slip on.

Read, and be in awe of meCollapse )

Surprise at the Party
Cassie's birthday scene is finished (more or less, there probably won't be any more comments) and if you've been following the Young Avengers there is an appearance you don't want to miss.

Thanks to everyone who participated! And brought presents!
